Exclusive: Turkish FM Cavusoglu on Greece: 'We are Friends' (video)


“We are neighbors. We are friends,” Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu told the Greek Reporter on Monday, ahead of the meeting between Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in New York.
The two leaders are in New York for the 73rd United Nations General Assembly. The two leaders will meet on Tuesday evening on the sidelines of the assembly to discuss the bilateral relations between the two neighbors, the situation in the Aegean, the Cyprus issue, the EU-Turkey agreement on migrants, the EU-Turkey relations, as well as developments in the wider region, according to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (AMNA).
Cavusoglu said that the two countries have friendly relations. “We are neighbors. We are friends,” he said.
Commenting on the meeting between the two leaders, the Turkish FM told the Greek Reporter: “At every occasion they meet, the two have a fruitful meeting.”
