Tourists from Qatar who have been vaccinated against the coronavirus will soon be able to enter Greece for their summer vacations.

Qatar Airways Holidays is offering an all-in-one vacation package to Greece, which strictly observes the current international health restrictions for travel between May 14 and September 30, 2021.

Summer packages for tourists from Qatar in Greece – Athens and Mykonos

Qatari citizens and residents who have completed their Covid-19 vaccinations can enjoy Qatar Airways’ “Summer in Greece” trip to Athens and Mykonos and a quarantine-free return to Doha. This has been made possible by the collaboration of the Greek government, which has announced they will reinstate the issuance of tourist visas to Qataris.

Flights to and from the Greek island of Mykonos will operate on Friday, Saturday, and Monday, while flights to and from Athens will operate every day of the week. The Embassy of Greece in Qatar will be accepting applications from potential travelers for the necessary entry permit visas beginning on April 25.

Custom-designed vacation packages have 40% discount

The custom-designed packages are for honeymooners, families, or people just looking for a luxurious escape for three nights. They include flights, daily breakfasts, transfers, and local assistance for sightseeing and excursions.

The offer includes up to 40 percent off the average price of the featured hotels listed below:

  • Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso, Vouliagmeni, Athens
  • NJV Athens Plaza, Athens center, Athens
  • The Myconian Kyma, Mykonos Town, Mykonos
  • Petasos Beach Resort and Spa, Platy Yialos, Mykonos
  • The Myconian Ambassador Relais Chateaux, Platy Yialos, Mykonos

“Travellers can choose to spend summer holidays in Athens, exploring unique archaeological areas, scenic neighborhoods and beautiful beaches around the Attica peninsula, or visit Mykonos – the island synonymous with fun and entertainment – and indulge in beautiful pristine beaches and picturesque views,” Qatar Airways Holidays says in its press release.

Qatar Airways recently became the first global airline to achieve the prestigious 5-Star COVID-19 Airline Safety Rating by the international air transport rating organization Skytrax.

Criteria for tourists from Qatar traveling to Greece

These quarantine-free holidays to Greece are available to those persons who meet the following criteria:

  1. Currently reside in Qatar. This includes Qatari Nationals, their travel companions, and QID holders.
  2. Aged over 16 years old and received the second dose of the vaccine in Qatar no less than 14 days and no more than six months before their return to Qatar.
  3. Children under the age of 16 can accompany adults but will be subject to home quarantine upon return to Qatar.

While the Greek Embassy in Doha is currently closed, assurances have been made that the Embassy will open in time to process tourist visas before the first flights on May 14.

The Greek Minister of Tourism Harry Theoharis, stated recently “We are looking forward to welcoming fully vaccinated Qatari citizens and residents to Greece.

“We take an important step in reopening leisure travel safely, recognizing the excellent efforts of the state of Qatar to roll out a widespread vaccination program. ‘All you want is Greece’ is our new motto, and it is with that we invite the people of Qatar to visit us.”

Greece has imposed a lockdown in several parts of the country to stem the spread of the coronavirus pandemic after a surge in new infections piled pressure on its health system. However, it has still fared better than most of Europe, suffering approximately 10,000 deaths since the pandemic began.
