A Greek company which produces ouzo, has now combined the iconic Greek aperitif with different flavors, and it claims it has already found customers for the unique product abroad.
While the company continues to offer traditional, licorice-flavored ouzo as well, the all new ouzo varieties are lemon, orange, cherry, lemon and mint.
The firm responsible for creating the product, AGP Fashion & Food Beverages Hellas, was founded in Greece in 2016. Its main goal is placing their unique product, which they have named “Sunouzo,” in stores in Greece and abroad.
The groundbreaking idea was initially born in 2010, when Panagiotis Patsatzis and his friend Georgios Tachtsidis were on vacation on the Greek island of Rhodes, when the two men noticed tourists there enjoying their ouzo with different types of fruit juices.
When they returned back to Athens, they shared the idea with Aliki Patsatzi Ioannidou, the daughter of Panagiotis Patsatzis.
The young lady turned her father’s idea into reality when the company was established in 2016.
“Australians, Dutch, and English are asking by email where they can find this Greek product in their country,” Patsatzi explained in an interview with the Athens Macedonian News Agency.
The company has already sold 1,500 bottles at an alcoholic beverage festival in Austria and has exported 2,000 bottles to the island nation of Cyprus.
Patsatzi has additionally revealed that the company is in the process of creating and releasing a “unique drink that doesn’t exist today, and if all goes well we will be launching it in 2020.”
