2 Pakistani Migrants on Chios Find and Return Lost Wallet

chioshotspotAccording to reports from the ANA-MPA, on Thursday morning Michalis Galatoulas, a Chios resident, lost his wallet while in town. Shortly afterwards he received a phone call from a woman calling on behalf of two Pakistani migrant men who had found his wallet and were trying to return it to its owner.
They returned the wallet, with 200 euros cash and credit cards without asking for anything in return, only that Galatoulas check that everything was inside the wallet.
“They were two polite young men who are struggling to survive,” Galatoulas told a local radio station according to ANA-MPA.
The Greek island of Chios has been hit hard by the migrant crisis as some 32,292 migrants have arrived via the Turkey-Greece sea route this year alone according to the United Nations refugee agency (UNHCR) data.
As current numbers stand, 3,316 migrants are stranded in overcrowded reception camps on the island meant to house 1,100 people as other EU countries have placed restrictions on resettling migrants or closed their borders to migrants completely.
Currently UNHCR reports that there are some 60,000 migrants stranded in Greece.
