Twin Kouroi of Tenea to be Hosted in Restored Hall of Ancient Corinth Museum

MASTER2

Two very important finds, the twin marble Kouroi of Tenea (statues of young males of the Archaic Period) that were found a few years ago in Klenia of Corinth will be displayed, for the first time, in one of the restored halls of  the Archaeological Museum of Ancient Corinth that will be inaugurated by Culture Minister Aristidis Baltas on Wednesday July 13 at 7:30 p.m.
The Kouroi were found during an illegal digging in the area of Klenia. Later, the authorities conducted an excavation in the area and found the missing parts of the Kouroi and their sarcophagus.
Police arrested antiquities smugglers in May 2010 and the statues were sent to the National Archaeological Museum in Athens for restoration.
