Main opposition New Democracy (ND) leader Evangelos Meimarakis in a written statement noted “Unfortunately, at the last minute, we had only the choice for agreement or no agreement that would have led to total disaster.”
Meimarakis also underlined that “with the agreement Greece got a breather in order with seriousness and responsibility to try to find again its pace in Europe” ND’s political council will convene to make a first estimation of the measures agreed between the government and the partners to decide on the party’s position in parliament. According to information, ND will vote the agreement.
