The large-scale joint military exercise dubbed ”Alexander the Great” concluded its operations on Friday on the Greek island of Skyros.
The multinational military exercise, which has been conducted jointly this week by the armies of Greece, France and the United States, included a wide array of operational tactics and run-throughs of possible scenarios.
On Friday, the assembled military groups from the three nations simulated the operation of recapturing a Greek island from an enemy.
Military analysts and diplomats from Greece’s National Defense General Staff (GEETHA) have stated that this exercise sends a clear and direct message to all those who claim that most of the Eastern Aegean islands in Greece should be demilitarized.

The American Embassy in Athens posted on Friday several different photographs taken during the exercise showing members of the US Marine Corps taking part in it.
”This exercise conducts integrated battalion-level command and control and company/platoon-level combined arms training to increase interoperability between the U.S. Marine Corps and Hellenic and French Armed Forces, reassure Allied and Partner Nations, improve readiness, reinforce relations, and improve the ability to deploy alongside partnered forces,” the Embassy said.
