Members of the Greek LGBTQI community watching the debate over the gender identity bill from the Greek Parliament gallery, had an emotional response after the bill passed in the House.
They sat patiently and quietly watching both days of the debate closely from their seats; without outbursts, in spite of some homophobic comments made by the more conservative MPs.
When the Parliament Speaker announced that the bill had passed, emotion poured out. The LGBTQI members in the gallery celebrated vigorously, applauding, crying and congratulating each other.
It was an emotional scene, that is rarely exhibited in the strict parliament environment. The following photos will undoubtedly become viral in Greek and international social media.
