The sequel “Dead Rising: Endgame”, based on the popular video game series “Dead Rising” is currently in the casting age and has just added Billy Zane and Marie Avgeropoulos to the film.
The “Dead Rising” series features the fictional East Mission City which has been overrun with zombies. It follows investigative reporter Chase Carter that finds himself running up against a huge military operation in order to uncover the secret of the town’s infection.
Zane will be playing a handsome mad scientist named Rand, who conducts experiments on the infected zombies. Marie Avgeropoulos will play a computer hacker and the main character Carter’s love interest.
Avgeropoulos is currently in the series “The 100”, and previously played in “Percy Jackson & The Olympians: Lightning Thief”. Billy Zane most recently appeared in the long-awaited “Zoolander 2” sequel.
Other actors that have been cast in the film include Jesse Metcalfe, Jessica Harmon, and Victor Webster. The movie just entered production in Vancouver, and is scheduled to premiere as early as the summer of 2016.
