Billy Zane Officially Returns for ‘Zoolander 2’

The much-hyped sequel to the cult hit “Zoolander” has already started filming and has slowly been revealing it’s cast members one by one over the last few weeks.

So we can now finally announce that Billy Zane is one of the actors from the original film set to return for “Zoolander 2”.

The news broke in a rather unconventional way through Ben Stiller’s Instagram account.

Stiller uploaded a video where he can be heard talking in his signature Derek Zoolander voice while approaching a man with long wavy blonde hair, much like Owen Wilson’s, from behind.

Then Stiller asks “Hey Hansel wouldn’t it be cool if Billy Zane was in Zoolander 2?”, at which point the man turns around to reveal it’s Billy Zane himself. Zane tosses out a “Yeah, that’d be great”, and then makes the movie’s famous “Blue Steel” face.

If the build-up to the movie is any indication, most of the original cast and some very funny actors including Billy Zane have already joined together for “Zoolander 2”, and seem to be having a great time preparing for it.

Stiller and Wilson already crashed Paris Fashion Week during the Valentino AW14 show in March as their on-screen characters Derek and Hansel, much to the crowd’s excitement.

Ben Stiller will be directing as well as starring in “Zoolander 2”, which was scripted by Justin Theroux (Jennifer Aniston‘s fiancee). The film is due for release in 2016, meaning it will hit theaters a full 15 years after the first film came out.

It might have been a long time coming, but all that humor and friendship behind the scenes is bound to make for a hilarious sequel!
