Rare Albino Golden Eagle Found in Western Greece

A unique albino golden eagle was found a few weeks ago by a caretaker of the Greek Ornithological Society at the area of Mesologgi, Western Greece.
The caretaker found the eagle near the Messologgi sea-lake a few hours after a strong storm.
As the Society has announced, it is a very rare albino golden eagle, a species that has been declared as endangered. The albino golden eagle is among the rare species of the so-called Red book of Endangered Animals of Greece. It is usually found in mountainous areas of Macedonia and Thrace, on Pindos mountains, as well as in some areas of Central Greece, the Peloponnese and Evia island. It usually resides in caves at high altitude (between 800 and 2,000 meters) and eats reptiles and small mammals.
