A new opinion poll shows that main opposition party, SYRIZA, is leading over the ruling New Democracy in the European elections, but in potential national elections the two parties might have equal percentages.
The opinion poll conducted by Public Issue on behalf of the newspaper “Efimerida ton Syntakton” shows that in the European elections, SYRIZA is slightly leading with 18.5% over New Democracy which stands at 18%. The River (to Potami) is third with 5.5%, followed by the socialist coalition, Olive Tree with 4.5%, the Communist party (KKE) with 4%, Golden Dawn with 3.5%, Democratic Left with 2% and the Independent Greeks with 1.5%.
Concerning the electoral influence estimates for the Greek parliamentary elections, both SYRIZA and New Democracy stand at 29%, followed by Golden Dawn with 8.5%, KKE with 7.5%, PASOK with 6%, The River with 5.5%, the Independent Greeks and the Democratic Left with 3.5%.
Another poll in the weekly “Paraskinio” showed New Democracy leading by 1.4 percent.
