Some 600,000 Uninsured Greek Vehicles

vehiclesAlthough there has been a significant decrease in uninsured vehicles compared to last year, there are still about 600,000 thousand of them authorities said, causing trouble to the people involved in a road accident, even when there are no victims involved.
Traffic police fines are heavy and everyday almost 1,000 uninsured vehicles are detected, but it is still impossible to crack down the phenomenon.
Strict fines are the only deterrent. In the case of an uninsured car, the owner must pay 500 euros, while the license plates, driving license and  vehicle registration are removed by the police. The fine for an uninsured motorcycle is 250 euros and 1,000 for buses and trucks.
