Students and professors of the Moscow Theological Academy were found on the island of Crete in the framework of a wider effort to promote Greek language and culture.
The delegation enjoyed their stay on the Greek island and met with District Governor Stavros Arnaoutakis and representatives of the Institute of Greek Language and Culture that invited the Russian academics to Greece.
The District Governor underlined the common features of the two countries and the effort he has been making to develop a progressive, unusual type of tourism, the religious-pilgrimage tourism.
S. Arnaoutakis, finally, praised the Russian students for being fluent speakers of the Greek language and particularly referred to them as the “best ambassadors of Greece in Eastern Europe” especially in these crucial times.
