Greece’s ruling party MP Thomas Rompopoulos said on Friday that he will resign his seat in parliament on Monday, he told Radio Thessaloniki.
In case he does not back out, actress Mary Akrivopoulou will undertake his seat, and PASOK’s majority of 154 seats (out of 300) will not be imperiled, but the move reflects discontent in the party.
Rompoulos had threatened in June to vote against the medium-term fiscal plan, but changed his mind just before the voting.
