Confiscated explosives similar to those in Limassol, which cost the lives of 12 men, are in Greece as well. The Ministry of Defense should have already shown interest and destroyed the explosives, but no further measure were taken.
More accurately, these explosives, coming from Iraq are kept in 34 containers in Laurium. The containers are under the authority of M.L.M USA.
Since 2004 there has been 700 tones of explosives held in Astakos after being confiscated from Baltic Sky ship. These explosives were supposed to be destroyed. Until now they are held in storehouses in Laurium, Dervenochoria and Velestino.
Although the issue was discussed because of the insistence of the PM Demara, no solution was found and no preoccupations were taken.
