Greek players celebrate the only goal of the game in Yerevan, Armenia

Greece sailed past Armenia 1-0 for Group J of the Euro 2020 qualifiers in Yerevan on Friday thanks to a first half goal by Dimitris Limnios.
Limnios continued his superb form for club and country by scoring the only goal of the game after 35 minutes to seal a second win in succession for John van ‘t Schip’s improving young team.
The National team’s performance, especially in the first half, confirmed the improvement observed in the last few games of an overall miserable campaign.
Greece climbed to third place in the group but it’s too far behind Italy and second-place Finland to make a late run for qualification for the finals.
Greece missed a score of good chances to extend their lead, but they were rarely threatened by the Armenian team.
The National team will host Finland at the Athens’ Olympic Stadium on Monday in the last game of the campaign.
