From the first notes of the song, “Ferto,” the audience went on a frenzy, proving once again the reason why he was the absolute favorite of this year’s event.

The voting procedure

The winning song was chosen by a combination of the public vote (50 percent) and two judging panels, one Greek (25 percent) and one international (25 percent). In the event of a tie, the public vote would prevail.

The public voted either by sending text messages (SMS) from Greek phone numbers to 54222, or online, in Greece or abroad, through the special voting platform on the site https://sfg.vote. People were allowed to cast up to 10 ballots if voting by text message. It is worth noting that for the first time, online voting allowed Greeks living abroad to participate in selecting the song that will represent the country in the Eurovision contest.
