Alexander Ludwig, the star of the hit TV series Vikings, praised Greece through social media during his honeymoon with his wife Lauren Dear on the Greek islands and lost no opportunity to express his unending admiration for the country through a number of photos.
The couple visited some of Greece’s most popular and idyllic islands, including Milos and Santorini, which he described on Instagram as “the ideal destination for the honeymoon we have been waiting for a long time.” They also visited the island of Paros and, impressed by its beauty, the Vikings star wrote on a post: “I might move here.”
Ludwig, who is known for his role as Bjorn Ironside in the popular TV series, married Lauren Dear in 2020 in a simple ceremony on top of a mountain in Utah in the United States. A photographer, the officiant, and their dog, Yam, who also served as a witness, were the only ones in attendance.

Vikings is a historical drama television series, created and written by Michael Hirst.
It is inspired by the sagas of Ragnar Lodrok, a Viking who is one of the best-known legendary Norse heroes and notorious as the scourge of Anglo-Saxon England and West Francia. The show portrays Ragnar as a farmer from the Kattegat, who rises to fame by raiding England and eventually becomes a Scandinavian king, with the support of his family and fellow warriors. In the later seasons, the series follows the fortunes of his sons and their adventures in England, Scandinavia, Kievan Rus’, the Mediterranean and North America.
The series is a co-production between Canada and Ireland and originally premiered on the History Channel on March 3, 2013. It concluded with its broadcast on History in Canada from January 1 to March 3, 2021 after the second half of the sixth season was released in its entirety on Amazon Prime Video in Ireland on December 20, 2020. A sequel series titled Vikings: Valhalla premiered on Netflix on February 25, 2022. The series was filmed entirely in Ireland on location in County Wicklow and at Ashford Studios.
Aside from Alexander Ludwig, the series’ principal cast features Travis Fimmel as Lothbrok, alongside Katheryn Winnick, Clive Standen, Jessalyn Gilsig, Gabriel Byrne, and Linus Roache among others.
Alexander Ludwig is a Canadian actor and country musician. He began his career as a child and received recognition as a teenager for starring in the films The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising (2007) and Race to Witch Mountain (2009). He is also known as Cato in The Hunger Games.
In 2014, he became part of the main cast of Vikings, playing the character of Bjorn Ironside, the son of Ragnar Lothbrok and Lagertha.
