Works on a new ultra-luxury resort that aims to set new standards in the hospitality sector are set to begin at Elounda, on the northern coast of Crete.

The 600 million euros ($655 million) Elounda Hills investment will spread in terraces, rather like an amphitheatre, over a coastal area of 675,000 sq.m and occupy a prominent place at Elounda, a famous tourist destination, popular with VIPs for its seaside luxury resorts.

Its construction was approved by the Greek authorities in 2019.

According to developers Mirum Group, the resort will have an unobstructed view of Mirabello Bay, famous for its scenery, idyllic beaches, and sheltered coastline.

The central element of the project is a 5-star hotel. The first phase of completion is set for 2026, while upon final completion (estimated 2030) it will have 135 rooms and 178 ultra-luxury apartments.

The marina will be managed by the world’s leading company of its kind, Camper & Nicholson, the most historic and respected marine brand in the field of luxury yachting.

On offer to customers will be private beaches, clubs, restaurants, a chapel, a park, a botanical garden and other infrastructure and amenities that together will compose an idyllic resort that will be inhabited all year round, with peak period May – October.

Mirum Group says that the resort will utilize the latest trends in environmental and economic sustainability, innovation, and technology. The most complete array of amenities will make family getaways and luxury stays possible and comfortable all year round.

The Elounda Hills project was conceived almost 10 years ago, but its construction was delayed as developers struggled to buy the adjacent plots in order to create a significant area (approx. 56 hectares) with over 2 kilometers of beachfront.

The Mirum group, a privately-owned group of companies that aims to design lifestyle experiences for discerning residents and guests in luxury residential and hospitality projects, has been active in Greece for 15 years and now has the status of a Strategic Investor.

The group is headed by Ukraine-born Israeli businessman Vitaliy Borisov.

At the moment it owns about 675,000 sq.m. of coastal land which is mainly home to residential complexes and boutique hotels. The Elounda Hills project is Mirum’s largest in Greece.

Mirum’s other projects in Greece include Mirum Villas in Elounda, a stunning beachfront complex of luxury residences directly across from Spinalonga Island as well as the boutique hotel “Island Concept”, near the city of Agios Nikolaos.
