The spheres of Greece-US energy cooperation and US investments in Greece dominated a meeting of Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and US Secretary of Energy Dan Brouillette in Athens on Thursday.
Meeting for the first time, at the Greek Prime Minister’s office at Maximos Mansion, the two discussed current developments and the recently stepped-up cooperation between Athens and Washington, one of the six priority areas of the Greece-US Strategic Dialogue.
The cooperation of the two countries in the field of energy is constantly being strengthened and Greece is developing into a major energy hub in the greater Mediterranean region.
During the meeting, Mitsotakis and Brouillette also discussed the prospect of further strengthening US energy investments in Greece, taking into account the actions of the Greek government for the continuous improvement of the investment climate in the country.
A full agreement was reached between the two sides on the continuation and deepening of Greek-US cooperation, as the two countries share a common vision for peace, stability and development in the wider region.

Later, the US Secretary of Energy met with figures from the Greek energy sector at the United States Embassy in Athens, remarking later in a post on Twitter that “the US remains Greece’s partner in leveraging energy to promote regional stability and security.”
