Coronavirus: 187 New Cases in Greece, One Dead, 40 People in ICU

Greece’s National Health Organization (EOPY) announced today that the number of new people infected by Covid-19 is 187, 27 of which were detected after checks at the country’s gateways.
The total number of cases as of today has reached 11,386, of which 55.7 percent are men. The breakdown of people affected shows 2,219 (19.5 percent) are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 4,970 (43.7%) are related to an already known case.
Currently, there are 40 patients who are intubated. Their median age is 70 years. Ten of them (25 percent) are women and the rest are men, while 82.5 percent of intubated patients have an underlying disease or are 70 years of age or older.
So far, 157 patients have been discharged from ICU, while an 87-year-old woman who died in Thessaloniki today raised the total number of fatalities to 280.
Of the 280 dead, 103 (36.8 percent) were women and the rest were men. The median age of the deceased was 78 years and 96.1 percent of them had some underlying disease and/or were 70 years old and over.
