Greek Tennis Wonder Tsitsipas Beats Zverev and Advances to China Open Final

Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas beat German second seed Alexander Zverev 7-6 (8-6) 6-4 in the semi-finals of the China Open in Beijing on Saturday and advanced to the final with Austrian top seed Dominic Thiem, Reuters reported.
Tsitsipas, 21, won 70 percent of his first-service points and broke Zverev four times. It took the Greek tennis wonder one hour 51 minutes to win and go to the final against Them.
The 22-year-old Zverev saved five match points in the second set before a backhand return went long to give the Greek victory in one hour 51 minutes.
The Greek player started slowly and Zverev broke him in the first game before taking a 2-0 lead. However, an argument with the chair umpire over a challenge from Tsitsipas where Zverev’s ace was judged wide seemed to affect the Austrian player’s concentration and two double faults allowed the Greek to pull level at 3-3.
Zverev could not hold his nerves and smashed his racket on the ground several times. Tsitsipas remained cool and won the set in the tiebreak.
In the second, the Greek player came in strong and won 12 points in a row to take a 3-1 lead. A late surge from Zverev was not enough to keep Tsitsipas away from victory.
Tsitsipas will compete with Them in the final on Sunday.
