The Prime Ministers of Greece and India discussed expanding collaboration in trade and tourism, at a meeting they held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting in New York on Friday.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and his Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi, affirmed the excellent relations between Greece and India and noted, respectively, that they represented the oldest and the most populous democracies in the world.
Had the opportunity to interact with the PM of Greece, @kmitsotakis. India-Greece relations have stood the test of time. We will work to enhance trade as well as people-to-people relations for the benefit of our citizens. pic.twitter.com/KD6VkPrDRQ

Building on the success of India’s presence as an honorary country at the annual Thessaloniki International Fair earlier in September, Mitsotakis invited Modi to visit Greece officially as soon as he can. Accepting the invitation, Modi also said it was important that Greece return to high rates of growth.
The meeting between the two prime ministers was originally scheduled for Thursday, but traffic in New York prevented Modi from arriving in time, prompting the rescheduling to Friday.
PM Modi also met with the President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades on Thursday.
The two men agreed to boost commercial, cultural and technological ties of the two countries.
It is a great pleasure to meet again today w/t @PMOIndia 🇮🇳 @narendramodi and to continue our discussion since our last meeting in #Cyprus 🇨🇾
I am ready to continue our close cooperation in all areas of common interest and to further enhance #Cyprus #India relationship. pic.twitter.com/2yQuAyJCNh
