Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Visits South Korea

His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew recently visited the demilitarized area of ​​Cheorwon-gun, near Gangwon-do, South Korea for a memorial service for those fallen in the Korean War.

According to the website of the Orthodox Metropolis of Korea website, the Ecumenical Patriarch said that he shared in the pain that the division of the country has brought to the Korean people.

The Patriarch held a memorial service alongside with Korean officials and clergy for those fallen during the Korean war, and prayed for peace and reunification. He specifically prayed for the reunion of those families that have not been able to meet each other because of the political division.

Bartholomew also visited the “Borderline Peace School”, where he was welcomed with much love and warm hospitality. The school strives for reunification of the Korean nation.
