A Polish tourist was saved from the cliffs of Assos on the Greek island of Kefalonia in a dramatic rescue effort after losing his orientation while hiking a trail.
The tourist was stranded in an area of the cliffs where the fire brigade was unable to reach him, causing him to wait hours to be rescued with one of the rescuers who reached the point where he was stranded and was not able to return due to the dangerous slopes.
The navy was called to assist in the rescue and they arrived on the scene with a Super Puma helicopter. The Polish man was brought to safety by the helicopter and the navy caught the daring rescue on video!
