On Friday as a Chinese native was making her rounds on the beaches of Rhodes offering massages for illegal tax-free pay, tax agency members showed up at Tsambika beach.
As soon as the woman spotted them she reportedly jumped into the sea, fully clothed, refusing to come out, Daily Morning Journal Rhodes reported.
Eventually a plain-clothed tax agency member who also happened to be a woman dressed in bathing gear meant to blend in with other beach-goers jumped into the water and swam out to where the Chinese woman was, around 10 meters from shore.
She brought the woman back to the shoreline and she did not resist, according to witnesses.
The woman was detained and will be have to pay a tax evasion fee.
