The creditors‘ representatives will depart from Athens sometime between Sunday and Tuesday, announced a top member of the Finance Ministry, with many parts of the negotiation still being left open, as there was no agreement regarding the issues that were being discussed.
On Saturday afternoon Finance Minister, Euclid Tsakalotos, Labor Minister, George Katrougalos and Development Minister, George Stathakis and the heads of the creditors, concluded their meeting regarding security fund reforms.
“The issue of the security fund could have closed, but it gets in the way of the broader negotiation” said Geogre Katrougalos, who had met earlier with PM Alexis Tsipras at the Maximos Mansion. He also added that “we suggested what we had to suggest.”
Both sides renewed their meeting for Sunday afternoon, with the creditors departing for their bases as of tomorrow. However, several members of the creditors’ representatives have already departed since there was no further development in the negotiation.
With no set date for their return, the representatives will return as of April, in order to achieve an agreement until the Eurogroup of April 22nd.
