A seven-month-old Syrian baby temporarily staying with his/her family in a refugee registration camp on the island of Lesvos, Greece died today of natural causes. Health officials are trying to determine the exact cause of the baby’s death.
Lesvos, is one of the main arrival points of immigrants and refugees who arrive in Greece, most of which prefer to continue moving north through the Balkans to find a new home in wealthier European countries. Balkan states have started refusing entry to economic immigrants thus identity fraud is rife. On Tuesday, local police on Lesvos arrested a man suspected of planning to sell fake registration papers to immigrants.
