Poll Shows Six in 10 Give Government 'Vote of Confidence'

Nearly six in 10 Greeks give the government a “vote of confidence” according to the findings of an ALCO poll unveiled on Tuesday, on the website topontiki.gr
Replying to a question “Would you personally give the Greek government a vote of confidence,” 59 pct of participants said “yes,” 34 pct said “no” and 7 pct declined to answer.
Asked to rate the policy statements unveiled by the prime minister in Parliament, 66 pct rated them “positively” or “very positively”, 19 pct “neither positively or negatively” and 9 pct as “negative or very negative,” while 6 pct did not answer.
To the question “How did you mostly feel while hearing the prime minister’s policy statements,” 48 pct said they felt either “enthusiasm” or “pride,” 24 pct said “nothing in particular,” 20 pct said “concern” and 2 pct “disappointment.”
With regard to the Greek government’s stance in the negotiations with Greece ‘s partners and creditors, 75 pct said they were in agreement, 15 pct disagreed and 10 pct did not answer.
The poll was conducted via phone interviews on February 9-10, using a random sample of 821 individuals above 18.

GPO poll shows 8 in 10 view government’s policy statements positively

Eight out of 10 Greeks, or 79.2 pct, view the government’s policy statements presented by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras in parliament positively, an opinion poll conducted by GPO for private Mega TV and published on Tuesday showed.
Of those asked, 85.5 pct said the policy statements are in accord with SYRIZA’s pre-election pledges, while only 11.1 pct thought the opposite.
Asked where they believe the strategy followed by the government and the prime minister in the negotiations will lead, 73.6 pct of respondents said it will result in a compromise with the European partners, while 16.2 pct believes it will lead to a permanent break with Europe. Another 10.2 pct didn’t answer.
Another 78.4 pct of respondents view positively the actions of the government and the prime minister in the first two weeks in power, versus 16 pct who see them negatively. A 5.6 pct of those questioned didn’t respond.
Furthermore, 9 out of 10 of participants (91 pct) say the opposition parties must support the government’s efforts in the negotiations. Almost the same percentage (90.3 pct) of those asked say they agree with the prime minister that it’s the government’s responsibility to reclaim the occupation loan and war reparations from Germany.
The poll was nationwide and was conducted on February 9-10, 2015.
