The band of Presidential Guard, the National Opera children’s choir and the Municipal Philharmonic Orchestra of Amfilohia visited the President of Democracy, Karolos Papoulias this morning to sing traditional Christmas carols.
Mr. Papoulias wished everyone a Merry Christmas, before departing for Germany where he spends the holidays every year with his family. He will return to Athens for the New Year celebrations.
The Prime Minister Antonis Samaras and his wife also listened to the Christmas carols from the Black Sea Pontian Club of Naousa, along with children of the Hatzikostas Foundation and the Vrakoforos Union of Crete. The Cretan envoy also recited poems and wished the PM fortitude in tackling homelessness, unemployment and poverty in Greece.
Finally, the choirs of the General Police Directorate of Attica and the Greek Boy Scouts met with the Vice President and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Evangelos Venizelos, wishing him a Merry Christmas.
