Samaras Visits Niarchos Foundation Site

NIARXOS1_528_355Prime Minister Antonis Samaras on July 26 visited the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) in Faliro, which is currently under construction, accompanied by the Minister of Development Kostis Hatzidakis, the Minister of Education Konstantinos Arvanitopoulos and the Minister of Culture Panos Panagiotopoulos.
Samaras stressed that this project will be a jewel for the wider region and will enhance Athens and Greece in general, as it will constitute a work, a sign of international recognition. As he mentioned the project will be delivered to the Greek State in 2016 and at its full development, it will have the ability to attract 1.5 million visitors every year and contribute at least 160 million euros ($212.48 million) to economy from the first year of its operation.
Andreas Drakopoulos, the President of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, thanked Samaras for his interest and said that, “In order for the Cultural Center to be ready for all, in order to be able to meet the high expectations we all have when delivered to the Greek society.”
