Ukrainians Flock to Crete

OUKRANIA_533_355After his participation in an economic-business forum in Kiev, Ukraine, Stavros Arnaoutakis, governor for the Crete Region, stated that the number of Ukrainian tourists to visit Crete will rise by 200 percent this summer.
Arnaoutakis was invited by his Ukrainian counterpart, Anatolii Prysiazhniuk, to participate in the forum along with 30 regions in the EU, Russia and the rest of the world.
The governor for the Crete Region stated: “Our relations with Ukraine and especially the Region of Kiev have been strengthened and the possible results are already visible. With our participation in this forum we aim to highlight the qualities of Crete in the primary sector and tourism.”
Arnaoutakis added : “The incoming tourism from Ukraine to Crete has increased by 200 percent, compared to 2012, but we are not complacent. We are trying for the constant improvement of the economic indicators, whether this has to do with our tourism or the exports of Cretan products not only to Ukraine, but also to the international market in the framework of the extrovert policy that we follow.”
