Tony Mokbel Associates Lose Appeal to Shorten Their Sentences

Six people who helped Tony Mokbel to transfer drugs and aided his flight from Australia to Greece have all lost their appeals to shorten their sentences.

Bassillios Pantazis was sentenced to nine years’ jail with a six-year minimum term after pleading guilty to attempting to pervert the course of justice and knowingly dealing with proceeds of crime, reports Courier Mail.

George Elias was sentenced to 11 years’ jail with an eight-year minimum for crimes including attempting to pervert the course of justice, drug trafficking and knowingly dealing with proceeds of crime.

Chafic Issa was jailed for 12 and half years with an eight and a half  year minimum term after pleading guilty to attempting to pervert the course of justice, drug trafficking and knowingly dealing with the proceeds of crime.

Mitat Rasimi was jailed for five years with a three year and four-month minimum term after pleading guilty to drug trafficking while David Tricario pleaded guilty to drug trafficking and received five years’ jail with three-year minimum.

Wayne Patrick Finn was convicted of drug possession but acquitted of other drug offenses. He was jailed for three years with a minimum 19-month term.

Tony Mokbel is an Australian of Lebanese descent. He was a fugitive until his arrest in Athens in 2007 on charges of amphetamines trafficking.
