On Saturday of Lazarus, April 7, until the Great Saturday April 14, a support campaign will be undertaken by the supermarket Alfa Mega all around Cyprus, under the title “We Are All Greeks.”
At six Alfa Mega supermarkets, those of Engomi, Acropolis, Larnaca, Lemesos, Pafos and Dheftera, there will be carts available, all week round, at the checkouts and the exits of the supermarkets.
Everyone willing to contribute to this campaign can put packaged life-long food items, such as tin cans, pasta, rice, pulses, baby milk, flour, cookies, oil, etc., in the shopping carts.
The Cypriot campaign for collecting food items takes place under the aegis of the Hellenic Embassy in Cyprus. All food collected will be provided to the islands of unprofitable shipping line, to the Cyclades, Dodecanese and Crete prefectures, as well as to social markets.
The campaign is organized by the Greek newspaper Kathimerini, the Fotos Fotiadis group, TV channel MEGA, and Alfa Mega supermarkets, putting their support and solidarity behind Greece into practice and to stress the importance of helping each other when someone is in need.
