Modern Medea Commits Child-Murder in Rethymno, Crete

The small society of Rethymno, Crete, is completely shocked after being informed earlier today that a woman murdered her own 13-year-old daughter in their home. The modern Medea slaughtered her child at 8 o’clock in the morning.
According to later information, the 35-year-old woman reportedly suffered from severe psychological problems, strangulating the young girl and then stood near the dead body staring at it for hours.
The terrifying details were revealed by the woman’s husband who explained to the police that when his wife opened the door for him to enter their home, he saw a knife stubbed in her neck. He then found his murdered daughter lying face down on the floor in a pool of blood, which didn’t come from the dead girl, but from her mother who had unsuccessfully tried to commit suicide.
The woman was transferred to a local hospital. After being treated by doctors, they determined she was out of danger but will remain hospitalized until further notice.
According to unconfirmed information, the cruel crime was committed in front of the four-member family’s second child, a 3-year-old boy.
Rethymno, a peaceful city in Crete, is still trying to recover from the shocking tragedy. A woman murdering her child is unfortunately not a rare phenomenon, according to the American Anthropological Association. Most cases are related to mental issues, but the culprit on the Greek island remains to be fully examined by the police.
