Low-Cost Airline Volotea to Link Venice to Thessaloniki from June 2nd

Direct Thessaloniki-Venice flights to and from the Marco Polo Airport will be available from the 2nd of June by low-cost Airline Volotea. The flights will take place every Tuesday and Sunday and the tickets will start from 19 Euros one-way, taxes included.
«Thessaloniki is an important destination. What makes us special as an airline firm, are the direct flights, the competitive prices and the quality services we offer”, a representative of Volotea, Alfons Claver, pointed out during a press conference that was held in Thessaloniki on the 19th of March.
Volotea, the low-cost carrier for Europe’s small and mid-sized cities, has also put tickets up for sale today for the new routes that will link Venice Marco Polo airport to six Greek Islands: Corfu, Heraklion, Kos, Mykonos, Rhodes, and Santorini.
Together with the Thessaloniki-Venice route, in the Greek mainland, Volotea will become the top airline in the number of destinations (seven) between Greece and Venice.
The Barcelona-headquartered company will initially base three 125-seat Boeing 717 in Venice, in order to serve a wide domestic and international network of destinations. Concerning Thessaloniki, it aims at transporting 19,000 passengers to and from Venice just in the coming season.
“We are standing next to every effort made by foreign companies. We hope that Volotea keeps the routes during the whole year”, remarked Nikos Sapountzis, General Manager of the Tourism Organization of Thessaloniki.
Reservations will exclusively be made via the website: www.volotea.com
