George Street Greek Festival Next Weekend in Thebarton SA

The Greek Orthodox Community of South Australia (GOCSA) is organizing the first George Street Greek Festival next weekend, Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 December at 1-70 George Street, Thebarton, Adelaide, SA.

“The community’s aim is to offer its members and the general public a taste of Greek culture, food and entertainment. We thought a street festival would appeal to a wider group of people whether they are Greek or non-Greek,” Sylvia Cassoudakis, General Secretary, GOCSA, told Neos Kosmos.

The George Street Greek Festival will include various happenings and performances for all ages and all tastes, whether Greek or non-Greek.

George Kapiniaris will be there all day Sunday as the MCing, entertaining all. Live band Kosmos with singer Stathis Papastergos will provide two days of the best Greek music. The weekend will be filled with dancing, not only Greek but Highland, Chinese and Aboriginal.

There will be a variety of food stalls offering Greek delights as well as activities for the kids such as face painting and balloons.

Admission is free to everyone.
