Eleftheria Arvanitaki Warmly Applauded By Vienna Audience

Greek singer Eleftheria Arvanitaki was welcomed by the Austrian artistic audience in the Vienna Konzerthaus on the 8th of October. The big concert in the capital city of Austria was part of the singer’s Central European tour for 2011.

Arvanitaki is one of the most well-known artists from Greece and during the past 30 years her songs and distinctive voice have made her popular all around Europe. Within this year’s tour “Eleftheria Arvanitaki-The Voice of Greece”, the singer performed in Zurich, Dortmund and other cities of Germany before giving the big concert in the Concert Hall of Vienna.

The Concert Hall was packed with almost 1500 Austrians and a several hundred Greeks. This massive attendance turned the concert into a support and solidarity gesture towards Greece and its people, who are currently facing tough times. The overall celebrating and enthusiastic atmosphere of the concert was strange to the rigid environment of the Hall but nevertheless satisfied all fans, who repeatedly asked form more and more songs after Arvanitaki’s concert was over.

The posters announcing the big event in town were describing the Greek singer as the Muse Calliope “the one with the beautiful voice and looks, whose songs are pledged to Greek Mythology”.
