Vicky Soteriou Found Guilty of Plotting Husband’s Murder

On Friday, Vickey Soteriou was found guilty by the Australian Supreme Court of plotting to murder her husband on January 2nd last year.

Vickey Soteriou had a love affair since 2007 with Aris Dimitriakis, an ex steamy relationship of hers. By 2009, the secret lovers had tattoos of each other’s names and initials, and even bought grave plots next to each other.

The two-weeks trial revealed the pair wanted to kill Chris Soteriou in order to receive Chris’s million dollar life insurance policy.

On his 44th birthday Chris Soteriou was brutally stabbed seven times and had his throat cut by his wife’s lover Aris Dimitriakis as he and his wife were walking to their car after a night out in Fitzroy, Melbourne.

Mr Soteriou, who suffered life-threatening injuries and spent 13 days in a coma, said his wife was watching this brutal attack take place, adding that he had no idea the attack was planned by his, as far as he knew, very trustworthy and loving wife.

Members of the Soteriou family cheered and applauded when the guilty verdict was delivered, while the husband said outside court “Justice has prevailed, it’s a good day, it’s a good result, hopefully we can close this chapter and move on”.

Dimitriakis, who pleaded guilty, has a reduced sentence of seven years for giving information on Soteriou, while Justice will sentence Soteriou on November 14.
