Greek Australian Minister Provides Greek Community with More Funds

The Greek Australian Minister for Multicultural Affairs and Citizenship of Victoria, Mr. Nikolaos Kotsiras has provided the Greek communities in Victoria with a total of $145,800 to further support their workings, while more than $590,000 will be delivered to 411 multicultural community organizations throughout Victoria.

In total, 42 Greek communities have received funds this year. More particularly, $104,000 has gone to 10 Greek communities to increase building grants; $11,000 has gone to 6 Greek communities as part of the strengthening communities grants; and $30,000 has gone to 26 Greek communities to support their organizations.

Mr. Kotsiras said that “these grants will benefit many Victorians who are members of multicultural clubs, organisations and associations”.

This multicultural funding program is part of the $5.6 million Community Grants Program aimed at supporting multicultural groups and community organizations to keep up with their costs as not-for-profit organizations.

This year the Community Grants Program was increased by $1.1 million.
