€3.7 Million Given to Employees of ELTA

The administration of the Hellenic Post Federation (ELTA) illegally gave its employees €3.7 million, as disclosed in an investigation by General Inspector of Public Administration L. Rakingis.  The money was given during the period of 1999-2009.

According to the law, sponsorship of union bodies is not allowed. Moreover, no further control of how the money was spent was made, which further inflames the current situation.

In addition, the Federation withheld €12 million which was supposed to be given to its employees.

Executive Chairman of the Hellenic Post Federation G Vassilopoulos, in response, claimed that all endowments were given legally.
