Taxi Union’s Meeting With Infrastructure Minister Fruitless

The meeting of taxi owners with Infrastructure Minister Yannis Ragousis did not provide any result, and unionists would press on.
Cabbies demand non-issuing of new licenses and ask for a six-month time limit to discuss the issue with the ministry officials.
Earlier on Wednesday, Greek police fired teargas at striking taxi drivers, who are determined to continue the striking action sine die, as there has been not been any development, after their union representatives met with the Minister.
Yannis Ragousis told unionists that the Greek government is willing to negotiate any proposal and is keen on conditions and rules to make a sustainable and modern profession as useful as possible for citizens.
