The Greek-Australian Cultural League of Melbourne supports the reinforcement of the Modern Greek Department at Monash University, by giving sponsorships to three students. Recently, at a gala at Monash University in Clayton, three students, Dimitris Tselios, William Kirou and Valerie Farnell, were awarded.
The Modern Greek Department started running again last year after a 16-year abstinence, due to strong efforts of the Greek Students League of Melbourne. The project is still supported by the Greek government, in order for the Greek language to be promoted within the Greek colony.
