The new Greek General Consul to Melbourne, Eleni Lianidou talked to the Greeks of Australia. She spoke during an event that took place in the building of the Greek community and asked for cooperation, succour and support.
“Our goal is to conserve our language, our culture, our religion and our tradition, in order not to lose the contact with our homeland”.
The event was organized by the Greek Orthodox Community of Melbourne and Victoria. More than 150 representatives of Greek organizations and members of the community were in attendance. The president of the Community, Vasilis Papastergiadis welcomed Mrs. Lianidou and wished her good luck in her mission.
