Larnaca International Airport Wins “Best Overall Airport Food and Beverage Offer” Award

Larnaca International airport has won the first Food and Beverage (FAB) award for “Best Overall Airport Food and Beverage Offer” in the sub 10 million passenger category.
One of the judges stated: “Overall our winner, represented outstanding quality, vision and leadership in airport food and beverage.” Asked about the award, F&B Marketing manager Elena Plarkou said yesterday: “We are very pleased. This is very important for us because it is our first year of operation, and the first year of Larnaca airport. It shows that we can now compete with the best in the world.”
F&B employs 200 staff at Larnaca airport, 50 at Paphos, and manages all the food and drink franchises in both airports.  This includes household names such as Gloria Jeans, Burger King and Panopolis. Frederic Podonowski of SSP received the award alongside Marios Loucaides, Chairman of the Board of Cyprus F&B. Mr Loucaides stated: “In order to make the visit of passengers at Larnaca airport more pleasant, we added several services, such as, a playground, live food preparation, live music in Atrium Bistro Bar, open smoking area in FloCafe, 24hour cafe-restaurants and table service restaurants”.
