Souvlakihut, the small business that has made Greek souvlaki famous all over Australia for the last five years, belongs now to the “Astera” group. The four investors that founded the group rescued the Greek business as it was facing financial issues which would result in bankruptcy. It is also important to know that two out of the four members of the “Astera” group are Greek. The Fotiadis brothers embarked on the challenge to create this family business five years ago. Last Thursday the owners of Souvlakihut were forced to call an administrator in order to find a solution. Many issues and other financial problems were afflicting their business. The administrator, Lorry Fitzelard decided that the best solution was to sell the business. According to its owners: “Souvlakihut was a victim of its quick success”.
