Prime Minister George Papandreou will officially inaugurate The Conference of Cretans this afternoon. The three day conference is organised in Lassithi by the World Council of Cretans and the prefecture of Lassithi titled “Cretan Communities: Vision and Action”.
Papandreou is going to visit Lasssithi’s neighboring villages and will return to Athens immediately after the ceremony.
The Conference will end on August 1st and many prominent speakers will take part in the international Cretan meeting. Among them are the Dean of The University of Sorbonne Ms. Eleni Glykatzi Arveler, former Dean of The University of Crete Mr. George Grammatikakis, former President of the Pan Cretan Association of America Mr. Manolis Iliakis and many more.
