Betty White Sick, Unable to Present Award to Longtime Friend Carol Burnett

Betty White - InterviewBetty White had to bow out of presenting an award to honor actress and author Carol Burnett at the “Hooray for Hollywood High” event on January 10 because she wasn’t feeling well.

The event took place at El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, CA and honored Hollywood High School alumnus Carol Burnett. She was given the very first Carol Burnett Honor of Distinction Award, presented by The Hollywood High School Performing Arts Center and The El Capitan Theatre. Major celebrities that attended Hollywood High School, along with many Hollywood stars, alumni and current performing arts students were in attendance. Each year, The Carol Burnett Honor of Distinction Award will be given to a Hollywood High Alum.

The event also proclaimed January 10 “Carol Burnett Day” by the City of Los Angeles. White was scheduled to present her longtime friend with the First Annual Honor of Distinction Award, but unfortunately had to cancel last minute after she got sick. Funny lady and “Glee” actress Jane Lynch stepped in to replace her.

Greek Reporter caught up with Burnett on the red carpet, who had get well wishes for White. She also gave us an update on how the Danish-Greek American actress is doing.
