Nicholas Brandram, the 44-year-old grandson of the late Princess Katherine of Greece, was found dead at his home in west London on Tuesday, British authorities said.
Police and the London Ambulance Service attended the property shortly after 7 p.m. local time, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
London’s Metropolitan Police said his next of kin had been informed. His death is being treated as unexpected, but authorities said there are currently no indications of suspicious circumstances.
Brandram had recently been under investigation in connection with the notorious “Putney Pusher” case, which began after a woman was shoved toward the path of a London bus in 2017. No one has ever been charged over the incident.
The “Putney Pusher” investigation
Security footage from Putney Bridge showed a male jogger appearing to push a woman into the road as a bus approached. The driver swerved and narrowly avoided hitting her.
The footage received widespread attention in Britain, but investigators were unable to conclusively identify the man responsible. The original investigation was closed in 2018.
Brandram was arrested in the summer of 2026 after new information emerged. He was later released while remaining under investigation, with police saying earlier this month that further inquiries were continuing.
His identity had not previously been made public in connection with the investigation.

Grandson of Greece’s former Princess Katherine
Brandram had family ties to Greece’s former royal family through his paternal grandmother, Katherine, who was born in 1913 as a daughter of King Constantine I of Greece and Sophia of Prussia.
Greece abolished the monarchy following a referendum in 1974 and does not recognize titles of nobility. Katherine, who died in 2007, was later known as Lady Katherine Brandram following her marriage to British Army officer Richard Brandram in 1947.
Their only child, Paul Brandram, was Nicholas Brandram’s father.
Nicholas Brandram had himself served in the British Army, reaching the rank of captain and serving on deployments that included Iraq, Bosnia and Afghanistan.
He later pursued a career in finance. His professional history included positions at Killik & Co, Bank Leumi and HSBC, where he worked with wealthy private clients.
Police have not linked Brandram’s death to the Putney investigation and have said that, at this stage, his death is not considered suspicious.
